Nausea is a nasty symptom to deal with especially if you’re out in the public and you need to be presentable when dealing with your coworkers and customers. How do we deal with this? Here are our top recommended foods to consume in order to fight off the nauseous feeling you’re having.
Water
We’ll never get tired of reiterating how important water in our life is. Water is a source of life since 70% of our body is made from it. It helps you stay hydrated so that your body will be able to function well. Aside from that, water can help ease your digestive tract which lessen your likelihood to have nausea. Settle your stomach with a cool glass of water in sips – or all the way down.
Nuts
If you felt like munching some foods just to kill your nauseous’ symptom, then we definitely recommend you to eat nuts. Nuts contains proteins that helps counter the effects of nausea. You can also restore your energy levels (which has been depleted from vomiting and dehydration) when you eat pistachios, almonds, and peanuts. And what’s more? They’re also packed with nutrients because it’s a great source for healthy fat foods. You can even go for a butter, if you like a smoother texture. Now you might want to indulge yourself with your guilty pleasure, but it’s okay. We cannot deny that we all love chocolates, who wouldn’t? And it turns out that dark chocolates are a great remedy for nausea too. Taking a bite of dark chocolate is like killing two birds with one stone. You get rid of your nausea AND your sweet tooth is satisfied.
Crackers
If your stomach acid is normally high that it invokes you to vomit, then this is where starch and carbs comes in to help you ease your pain. Crackers, bits and pieces of bread, and toast can help lower down your acidity and eases queasy stomachs. It is best eaten in the morning before you start your day. Keep this close by for times when the churning in your stomach becomes uncontrollable.
Ginger
There’s no doubt that most healthcare professionals recommend ginger against nausea and other stomach bugs because of its stunning health benefits. It can be eaten in the powder form, grated, as ginger ale, ginger tea, ginger snap cookies, ginger candy and pickled ginger. Furthermore, not only it is a great remedy for nausea but it can also help fight the symptom of vomiting during pregnancy or brought by chemotherapy. Ginger contains absorbent, antispasmodic and antiemetic properties. Studies also show that it can help fight with travel or sea sickness.
