Jim Morrison was an American singer-songwriter known for being part of the popular band The Doors. Unfortunately, Jim had some troubles with substance abuse and his million-dollar bank account and sudden fame attributed to his outrageous behavior.
In 1967 Jim bought a Shelby GT500. One night the singer was intoxicated and drove into a pole. He had one look at the vintage car and walked up the road to a nearby bar. When he returned the car was gone. Someone took it and his car was never seen again. Back in the 1960’s the Shelby GT500 would cost a minuscule $2,460. Recently a 1967 Shelby GT500 has been sold for a whopping $1 million and is said to be one of the most expensive vintage cars around.
