Five Ways to Motivate Yourself When You Are Alone!

We all have hopes, aspirations, dreams, and desires in life. However, often, we find it difficult to maintain our goal-oriented behaviors. One reason for this could be the various distractions we have in life. And at other times, it could be the psychological pressures you are dealing with.

End of the day, you lose motivation to work, be it because of the external distraction or internal. While it would help if you had peel to cheer you up and motivate you, that’s not possible at all times. So, here is a quick guide that will help you raise your spirits and stay motivated at all times until you reach your goal.

Compete With Yourself

Even the most mundane chore gets exciting and fun when you make it a competition. You could set time, goals, and other competitions where you need to compete with yourself. Yes, trying to beat your previous record while working on some tasks can help you excel in those. You will find the most efficient way to accomplish your goals and have fun as you attend to those! And competition with yourself can never get unhealthy, so it’s a win-win!

Write Notes to Yourself

There are many books, movies, and TED talks you could listen to motivate yourself. However, there is one person who could do it way better than anyone else. It’s you! So, write yourself tiny notes and leave them around the house.

It will help you get back to the task and focus on it. Be your cheerleader until the world joins in to celebrate your success! A major reason why this works is, nobody knows what will push you to go that extra mile better than you do, so why not let the expert do the job?

Take a Cold Shower

Nothing refreshes you like a cold shower. So, if you are feeling low, unproductive, or lazy, hit the shower. At the same time, it might seem like a great idea to take a warm shower that would relax you completely and make you feel fresh think again. A hot shower might make you want to lie down and take a nap.

And that would drain down all the last bits of motivation to work that you have in you. Instead, the cold shower would help you sit up straight and finish all your tasks on time. This happens because it increases your body’s blood flow and prepares your body and mind for work.

Break Tasks Into Smaller Parts

Finishing one big task might seem daunting.  If you think about it, most of the tasks you procrastinate are those that take too much of your time and energy. And then the task never gets done, and it only makes it all the more daunting.

So, instead of dealing with the task as a whole, break it into smaller chunks. For instance, if you need to finish designing a website, rather than doing it all at once, break it into smaller parts.

Decide the color theme, then go for the layout, work on the content, build it, test it, and finally optimize it. That way, you get to deal with smaller tasks that are not too hard to accomplish.

Also, make sure to start the toughest tasks in the morning. This way, you have a fresh mind and can think better. Avoid burning the midnight oil, as it only dampens your productivity and creativity.

Treat Yourself When You Achieve Your Goals

We never shy away from complimenting others and giving them credit. But how often do we take a compliment or give one to ourselves? It is important to reward yourself every time you achieve a task you set up for yourself. This will motivate you to achieve more of your goals.

No matter how small the milestone, pat yourself on the back and reward yourself with some delicious treat. While it might not seem like a great motivator, you will notice how your productivity significantly improves.

Well, these are just a few handy hacks or tips that you could use to motivate yourself while you are alone! Remember, no destination is too far to reach, and no goal is impossible to achieve. So, give your dreams a shot by putting in your best foot forward!
