Is Raw Food Good for Nutrition and Weight Loss?
It is scientifically proven that raw food is good for your health. The reason behind this is that research evidence says cooking destroys the nutrition in your food. That’s because cooking alters the natural state of food.
It turns the food into a chemical where the nutritional substances d into free-radicals, acid-forming toxins, and even poisons that can put your health at risk. With that in mind, this is ideally the main reason why raw foods are healthy to eat and will surely benefit your body in numerous ways.
Alkalizing Raw Food is Key to Good Health
A raw foodie is someone who eats 75-100% live, naturally-dense organic, and uncooked food. You should enjoy meals that maximize and enhances your health by alkalizing your body. On that rate, the elimination system will remove the toxins which form when you cook food. When you eat lots of cooked food, you will be consuming acidic toxins much faster than your body can get rid of them.
This means when they back up. It interrupts your body’s delicate alkaline/acid balance, which is the leading cause of diseases and excess weight. If you heat the food to 118 degrees Fahrenheit and above, then it will cause chemical changes. This, in turn, will create acidic toxins, which include mutagens, carcinogens, and free-radicals that cause numerous diseases. Some of the health problems include heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and arthritis. Additionally, cooking can kill off the live enzymes that are essential in proper digestion and maintaining good health.
Your body somewhat resembles an alkaline battery, which runs mostly on electrons. The life-giving chemical reactions only occur when the electrons or energy flows in between the atoms. Processing or cooking will cause the food to lose electrons, which is the energy source that your body needs. Healthy foods, which contribute energy/electrons, are called alkalizing. On the other hand, the unhealthy ones that steal the energy/electrons are called oxidizing. Oxidizing refers to rusting, breaking, burning, or decaying of the electrons. It also includes the essential nutrients that food provides to your body.
Raw Food is Convenient
The two common myths of eating raw foods are that it can be more expensive and that it will take time to prepare them. However, if you do it the right way, then this will be the easiest one, it is convenient and very economical. The best raw foods to eat are organic ones. That’s because it is 80% to 300% more nutritionally dense and has ample energy/electrons. Once your body adapts to this additional energy and electrons, the results will make you less hungry. At the same time, you will gain more energy from what you eat. This will undoubtedly cause your food costs to go down along with your medical bills. You can say that switching to raw foods and avoiding cooked food will prevent any toxins from entering your body. Thus your body is more clean and healthy.
Pursuing the raw food diet is probably one of the best choices you’ve ever made. This is packed with lots of nutritional benefits. You will definitely love the way it will change your lifestyle. Also, this doesn’t necessarily mean that you will be sticking to just fruits and vegetables. There certainly are other foods and ingredients that you can incorporate in this diet. And what’s more, your food doesn’t necessarily revolve around the organic category. You can guarantee that this extreme way of eating will open your eyes to a wide variety of food choices, which may even include recipes you may have never heard of.
However, you shouldn’t only look on the bright side because it still comes with a few setbacks when it comes to nutrition.
The Drawbacks of Eating Raw Food
It’s undeniable since raw food diets mainly consist of organic foods, you won’t be getting other vitamins and minerals such as iron, calcium, protein, zinc, vitamin B12, and omega-3 fatty acids. Lack of vitamin B12 in the body may cause homocysteine and will lower HDL cholesterol levels, wherein both of them can create risks of having a heart disease.
There are also some unsuspecting foods aside from meat, eggs, and milk that can pose some dangers to your health when you eat them raw. Keep in mind consuming raw can have high risks of food poisoning, especially if you don’t know what you’re doing. For this reason, children, pregnant women, the elderly, and people with a weak immune system shouldn’t engage in this type of nutrition.
Just keep in mind that cooking is not all bad since it can help in boosting some nutrients like lycopene and beta-carotene. Tomatoes and carrots are rich in these nutrients.
