The Ecuadorian and Australian national has made his name as an activist, publisher, and activist. Julian Paul Assange is most well-known for his involvement in the giant whistleblowing campaign Wikileaks. He was married to a woman called Teresa Assange from 1989 to 1999, and the two have a son named Daniel. Assange has had movies about himself, such as Risk and We Steal Secrets: The Story of Wikileaks. He has also managed to write several books, such as When Google meets Wikileaks and Underground.
Julian Assange was captured after he sought asylum in the Ecuadorian embassy for years, since 2012. In 2019, his asylum status was terminated, and he was charged with the conspiracy to hack the Department of Defense. In April 2019, Assange was arrested in London. For many, he is hailed as a hero who seeks right the injustices performed by those in power. However, the government views him as a criminal and a threat to national security.
