Not only can these birds use this powerful sense of smell to find their meal, but there are also 50 species, the most common being the yellow-legged, little gull, and herring gull. As evidenced here with this picture, it’s not unlikely that they will swoop in after your food before you know it, so it’s best to stay vigilant and only dine if in a secure area.
