The growing population of these animals has experts warning that they could be the most dangerous creatures lurking in the Garden State. Coyotes are cunning predators that can take down small pets and attack humans. Their numbers have exploded, with estimates putting them in the thousands.

Despite this, New Jersey didn’t have enough animal-related deaths to make the CDC’s list. But that doesn’t mean anyone should take coyotes lightly. One man claimed he was attacked by one in the woods while walking his dog.
