“Shit.” Mike was so frustrated and scared. “I knew this was a bad idea.” He began pacing. “What if they are the bad guys? What if they lock us in the room too? What are we going to do?” Jeff was just as afraid as Mike, but he didn’t think it was the right time to complain.
“Stop pacing!” he held onto Mike’s arm, stopping him in his tracks. “We need to figure out where to hide!” The boys hurried back the way they’d come, and just in time. Because the men began walking down the stairs just as the boys ducked beneath the staircase and turned off their torches.
