Al Pacino, 1961
Alfred James Pacino, more commonly known as Al Pacino, is one of Hollywood’s greatest mega-stars. His meteoric success began with his groundbreaking roles in The Godfather and Scarface. The actor grew up in a tough urban area in the South Bronx, New York City. Having to fend for himself, he had a run-in with the law before he was famous.
In 1961, Pacino was arrested in Woonsocket, Rhode Island for possession of a concealed weapon. Pacino and two of his friends were caught wearing masks while driving suspiciously around the same block. Police pulled them over, and inside the vehicle’s trunk, they found a loaded .38 caliber pistol. Pacino was arrested and charged with possession of a concealed weapon. He spent only three days in jail and wasn’t able to come up with the $2,000 bail. Charges were later dropped. A mugshot is all that remains from that event.
