Hank Williams – 1952

Hiram King Williams is often cited as one of the most influential American singers and songwriters of the 20th century. Having died in 1953, he had a relatively short musical career, which only adds to how impressive he was a musician. He released a total of 35 records, with a lot of them being best sellers and topping on the billboard top 10.

Despite being a creative powerhouse in the music industry, he was not immune to the law. William was arrested in Alexander city at Russel Hotel for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct. Afterward, he spent some time in the St. Jude’s Hospital in rehabilitation.  His friend paid a $25 bond and a $10 fine. While in jail, he had his infamous picture taken. Hank got help at the treatment center.
