Johnny Paycheck – December 1985
Donald Eugene Lytle is the birth name of Johnny Paycheck. He is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter. His greatest achievement is arguably accredited to his contributions in the 1970s in the “Outlaw movement” in the country music genre. He also made appearances in the TV show Austin City Limits.
Throughout the ‘80s, Johnny Paycheck had multiple confrontations with the law. In 1989, he finally ended up serving time in prison. Before the sentence, he and his lawyers spent the better part of four years battling aggravated assault charges through multiple appeals. He served two years at the Chillicothe Correctional Institute then got parole. With his success, the prison sentence hopefully doesn’t drag him to bankruptcy.
