Take A Look At This Man’s $2,200 School Bus Dream Home!

Building The Kitchen

Michael was an avid cook and entertainer, so the kitchen was a fundamental part of his design. Limited space meant he had to make the most of his countertop and use it for cutting vegetables without any extra boards or plates.

Michael got lucky as Swedish furniture maker Ikea was transitioning its old kitchen line, affording him an incredible bargain on his butcher block countertop. They come in a solid wood option, but there are also those with a thin surface layer of wood on a particleboard structure. Additionally, the cabinets and drawers only cost him $30, leaving him with more funds for the rest of his wheeled home.
