These Female Soldiers are Breaking Stereotypes and Winning In and Out of Uniform

Meagan Michelle

Meagan Michelle is a U.S. Army soldier stationed at Fort Bragg. She made history by becoming the first woman to independently “defuse” an IED, earning her widespread recognition in the military. Moreover, in 2015, while serving as a combat medic in Afghanistan, she bravely tended to the wounded while under fire, demonstrating her calmness and focus under pressure.

Michelle’s courage and selfless actions were acknowledged by the military, earning her a Bronze Star medal for valor, a rare honor bestowed upon few. And her story highlights the crucial role played by women in the U.S. military and serves as an inspiration for many young girls and women.
