But the ever-resourceful Jeff pulled out his phone and turned on his torch. Feeling relieved, Mike copied his actions, adding an extra beam of light to the otherwise dark corner.
It’s amazing what fear does to a person. Mike had somehow forgotten about his phone in his pocket. If his friend hadn’t taken the initiative to turn on his torch, he would have been stuck, shivering in his boots. But he felt more relaxed, knowing he was not alone.
