Matt didn’t budge. Hailey was visibly upset, and the tissues hadn’t done much to hide the evidence of her intense crying session. “I promise I’m fine.” She insisted after noticing the look of doubt on his face. “I know I look a mess right now, but I’ll return to normal once I wash my face.”
Matt nodded. “I’m here if you want to talk about it anyway. It seems you know the groom.” Hailey hadn’t realized anyone had been paying attention. She thought she had hidden her shock at seeing Abel well. But now that Matt knew, denying it didn’t make sense. “Yes. He’s my husband.”
