Hailey Gets an Offer
Hailey looked up as Matt handed her some tissues. She hadn’t even noticed when he approached her, but she was too sad to be embarrassed by her puffy eyes and tear-stained cheeks. “I’m Matt. Do you need more time? I can cover your rounds if you want.”
Hailey kept quiet as she wiped her face clean. She needed a few moments to collect herself before responding. She knew the manager would notice her absence, so taking Matt up on his offer would be terrible. “No thanks.” She finally replied. “I think I can handle it. Thanks for the tissue, though, and thank you for worrying.”
