Niki Lauda – Mercedes-AMG GT S – $140,000
If you don’t know who Niki Lauda was, you’re probably not a Formula 1 fan. The world-famous Austrian driver won the Formula 1 World Drivers’ Championships three times: in 1975, 1977, and 1984. He was an aviation entrepreneur and drove for Ferrari, McLaren, BRM, and Brabham. His last win was in 1985 for the Dutch Grand Prix, after which he retired.
It was no secret that Lauda loved speed, whether it was in the sky or on the road. He owned numerous Ferraris but had a favorite Mercedes AMG GT S in silver color. The car cost him $140,000, and he even joked once that he didn’t even know how he could afford the car. Unfortunately, Lauda passed away at the age of 70 earlier this year in a treatment center for kidney problems.
